If THIS isn't right up my alley, I don't know what is....

It is here that we will be celebrating our 25th.

Here is the link, just in case anyone will be in Southern Oregon anytime soon and wants GREAT food and very sweet lodging. 

The four generations that work this inn, are the nicest people you will ever meet.

SO accommodating. SO friendly. SO down-to-earth.

It's up the road about 20 miles, but worth the drive. 

I CAN'T wait until our party in July. I'll post after photos of all the things I have up my sleeve.

My friend, Ginger, my maid of honor back in 1985, and I drove up there today and had lunch.

She totally summed it up, as we were sitting at a table by the window, taking in the historic surroundings.

"Most places like these are museums."

Yep, but not this one. 

AND 

we get to throw a party, 

go right to our room after, 

and have a full breakfast the next morning. 

Doesn't get better than that!!!

Has it really been that long since I blogged?

How can that be?

I've been really busy, to say the least. MIA from blogland.

Busy putting together our 25th Anniversary party. Man, there are a lot of details to attend to.

Busy at work. Being a side-kick and support person to my husband and the crew.

Busy at home. The usual housework and feeding of the gang...and let's not forget the contractor working there.

Busy at the new building. Coordinating. Paperwork. Phone calls....

Soon - maybe towards the end of Summer, it'll all be coming to a close and then I'll be complaining how bored I am ...with NOTHING to do....

Highly unlikely, since there's ALWAYS something to be done, but maybe I'll get to spend some time with friends and family. Yeah, it might be nice to spend Thanksgiving with everyone...well EXCEPT Kyle. He'll be busy with Army Boot Camp in South Carolina. I still can't believe that. Someone pinch me.

Anyways....

The stone patio, stone entryway and our front porch should be done in a couple of weeks. We should be able to make the business move to Medford by the end of Summer
(by the end of July - if all goes well - we'll see).

Demo is done. Permits are in place. Let the construction begin...

It's an older building. Lots of age. Some good. Some not-so-good.

The kitchen/break room had a lot of water damage. Someone repaired the studs and drywall, but didn't repair the leak. How lame is that? Reminds me of one of those home improvement shows.

The back of the drywall had UGLY mold growing. 

But....in order to make lemonade from lemons, before it all got removed, I took a few pictures. Even though the MOLD is GROSS, the formation was REALLY cool looking and would make really fun backgrounds for mixed media art.

I just love the patterns. 

The colors.

The organic nature of the growth.  Looks like a starry night.

Admit it. 

If these were winter landscapes painted on silk, you'd LOVE them too!!

I am not MIA. Well, maybe I am. I haven't blogged in almost a month. Been busy. REALLY, REALLY BUSY!!!

Mixed Emotions....

Ever have a day that is SO full of a range of emotion?

I think it's called Mixed Emotions....

This morning, I received confirmation that Phillip and I will be able to celebrate our 

25th Wedding Anniversary at a local vineyard property.

(us back in 1987 - we had been married for almost 2 years!)

There will be wine tasting (even though I don't drink wine), appetizers, catered BBQ, a live rock band, lemonade, beer, desserts - all to be shared with our family and friends.

(us a couple years ago)

I was on cloud nine all day....

....until the phone rang this afternoon....

(I have very mixed emotions about posting this part, but I need some feedback from other moms out there.)

Our dear little one, 

that was delivered to us in 1990

our sweet little Kyle.....

has caved to peer pressure!!!

At least that's how I am seeing it RIGHT NOW.

I may change my mind someday, but RIGHT NOW, I'm not too happy.

You see, he called me yesterday asking for where dad and I were born.

After a tennis match of questions, I confirmed the info he already knew.

Today, he called asking for our Social Security #'s.

We had another tennis match.

Then I asked the question.

"Are you enlisting?"

Silence on the other end of the line.

Then

the

answer.

I have MIXED EMOTIONS about it all......what mom wouldn't?
